With the passage of the Affordable Care Act, there will be major changes in the ways that providers and hospitals are paid. How payment reform will impact emergency care is uncertain; however, depending upon how payment policies unfold, there may be a large impact on emergency care. How should emergency care providers respond? The answer is to promote cost-conscious care. This webinar will address how payment reform may impact emergency care, and how emergency care providers can promote cost-conscious practice.

• Describe current payment reform efforts, and discuss how reform may impact emergency care
• Describe ways that emergency care providers practice in ways that are more cost-conscious, without impacting quality of care
